Scenes from September | Fall 2018 on the Outer Banks
Early fall has been a stunning season here on the Outer Banks! Balmy breezes have been in the high 70’s/low 80’s, and the warmth of the water seems like it almost matches the air. As always, locals and visitors are loving this season: crowds have thinned, traffic has calmed down, shell-hunting is at its finest, and the beaches are near-empty.
Understandably, we’ve heard questions regarding the impact of Hurricane Florence on our area. We are incredibly grateful to report that the northern section of the Outer Banks — from Corolla to Nags Head — are fine. The impact was similar to what we see during a nor’easter, and things quickly returned back to normal after the storm passed to our south.
Although we are thankful that we did not experience the brunt of the storm, some of our neighboring coastal towns to the south and inland were heavily impacted. We have donated to the American Red Cross and Foundation for the Carolinas, and local Dare County EMS personnel and ambulances were dispatched to assist with Florence Relief efforts.
We look forward to continuing to spread the word that our beautiful beaches are open, and we hope to welcome you back to the Outer Banks soon! Browse Our Homes
