Outer Banks Women’s Wellness Retreat: A New Way to Slow Down This Fall
There’s a reason people keep coming back to the Outer Banks to unwind. This October, that pull is the whole point of a new retreat built just for women. Ask any woman who’s spent a week juggling everyone else’s needs what she actually wants, and the answer is rarely a packed itinerary. It’s usually just: quiet.
There’s something about this stretch of coast that does the quieting for you. The rhythm of the waves, wide-open beaches without the crowds of bigger resort towns, and air that smells like salt instead of traffic all create a natural setting to slow down.
That backdrop is exactly why The Holistic Reset was created here. Retreat host Shweta Gupta is a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach and an Ayurvedic lifestyle coach, and for years she’s worked with women who are stretched in a dozen directions at once, running a household, building a career, caring for a family, meeting everyone else’s needs, all while waiting for a moment to catch their breath that never seems to come.
“Women often tell me, ‘I’ll slow down once things calm down,'” Shweta says. “But things never really calm down. Sometimes, you have to intentionally create the space to step away.”
That’s exactly what she hopes to offer this fall. From October 15–18, 2026, Shweta will host The Holistic Reset, a four-day women’s wellness retreat at an oceanfront estate here in Kill Devil Hills.
The mornings will start the way Shweta thinks every woman would love: watching the sunrise over the water, with no alarm, no to-do list, just the sound of waves and birds. From there, guests will move into oceanfront yoga, chanting, and guided meditation right on the beach, followed by a slow breakfast instead of one eaten standing up over the sink. The rest of each day will blend mindset workshops, a guided sound bath and release rituals, and wholesome plant-based meals made fresh on-site. Cooking demonstrations will also provide guests recipes they can take home and actually use in everyday life.

When Shweta describes the retreat to women, what she hears most isn’t excitement about the ocean view (though the private beach access certainly doesn’t hurt), it’s relief.
“It’s the relief of knowing you don’t have to figure out what comes next,” she says. “You don’t have to take care of anyone else in that moment. You can simply be here.”
The retreat is intentionally being kept small, with space for just 15 women, so the experience will remain personal and intimate. Some of the women attending already know each other, though most do not, yet. That’s part of what makes the experience meaningful.
By the end of four days, guests will leave with more than a tan and a nice photo. Shweta hopes they’ll return home with renewed energy, greater clarity, more enthusiasm for life, a quiet strength they may have lost touch with, and a small community of women who understand exactly what it took to give themselves this time.
Carolina Designs is proud to support Shweta in bringing The Holistic Reset to the Outer Banks. Our oceanfront home’s amenities, paired with a team committed to thoughtful service, will help provide the right environment for a retreat centered on slowing down, reconnecting, and simply having space to be.
