    Hurricane Sandy is a Category 1 storm with winds reported at 75 mph. At 2:00 PM, Sandy was located 630 miles from Duck, NC.

    Watches And Warnings
    A Tropical Storm Watch is in effect along the Outer Banks for areas south of Oregon Inlet.

    Evacuation Information
    At this time, there are no evacuation plans for Corolla, Duck, Southern Shores, Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills or Nags Head. Emergency Managers in both Dare and Currituck counties are monitoring the progress of Sandy, and advise residents and visitors to make safety preparations prior to this weekend.
