Outer Banks Fishing Report
The Outer Banks, with its spectacular natural beauty, offers visitors opportunities to enjoy pleasures that are far from commonplace. Here, you can drive your four-wheel-drive vehicle along the many miles of accessible beach as you search for that perfect fishing spot, or sit around a bonfire with the backdrop of the ocean waves. All of this can be enjoyed, but there are a few regulations that must be followed.
For all locals and vacationers alike, the grand re-opening of Jennette’s Pier in Nags Head marks the end to years of hard work in the making the new state-of-the-art, LEED certified, 1,000-foot concrete pier and 16,000-square-foot one-of-a-kind educational ocean pier house Saturday, May 21, 2011.
Built in 1939, the oldest fishing pier on the Outer Banks finally took its final blow during Hurricane Isabel in 2003 after many attempts to keep it restored.
The pier complex, now owned by the NC Aquarium Society, will feature educational classrooms and programs, alternative energy demonstrations, live animal exhibits, meeting facilities, a snack bar and tackle shop, other displays and features for family fun and fishing too!

The importance of having adequate outdoor open spaces around a large private pool during your vacation on the Outer Banks is emphasized in an article written by Gray Berryman, one of our broker Realtors® at Carolina Designs Realty, titled “The Pool is the New Kitchen.” Amenities such as a gas grill, cabana, baby pool, hot tub, and water features surrounding the pool are sought after more than ever. During the rental season, families spend a large percentage of their time outside, specifically in the pool area. In return for these accommodations, homeowners incur less wear and tear in the home, higher rental rates and more reservations.
