Mar 18, 2012 the 23rd Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Virginia Dare Trail/Beach Road, MP 11.5 – 10.5, Nags Head. 1 p.m. Rain or shine. The largest St. Patrick’s Day Parade in NC travels the greenest mile in the Tarheel state. Over 1,500 participants and approximately 10,000 spectators enjoy an afternoon filled with floats, live music, marching bands and creative marching/walking/motorized units.

Vacationers and locals will relish the incredible sounds of The Return bringing you the best songs of The Beatles appearing live on the Outer Banks in the fourth performance of the 29th extraordinary Outer Banks Forum Performing Arts Series on Sat., Jan. 21, at 7:30 p.m., said Eddie Cooke, president of the Outer Banks Forum. All programs will be held at the First Flight High School in Kill Devil Hill.

“Step back in time, listen to the music that has had a profound effect on the world’s musical scene, and be excited by these amazing young musicians,” said Cooke. “Start the New Year off right with an astonishing trip down memory lane.” For more information about season tickets or individual tickets, call Julie Hamilton, 252-255-2274. The Outer Banks Forum for the Performing Arts is a non-profit organization that brings an annual series of seven outstanding diverse concerts to the area and provides opportunities for youth to participate in the arts. All of the performances are partially underwritten by community businesses.

If our visitors and/or locals have not experienced this yuletide favorite, you are in for a royal treat December 20-23 & 27-30 from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Lights and music transform The Elizabethan Gardens into an illuminated winter wonderland complete with peacocks, butterflies, deer and other garden creatures created with flowers, seeds, natural elements, as well as traditional holiday decorations.

National winners of a Today’s Show and HG TV, Mr. and Mrs. Poulos of Ocean Acres Drive in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina, create a Christmas and holiday lights display year after year creating yuletide excitement for so many.  When you visit them, please express your appreciation of this wonderful Christmas experience.  We are very fortunate that Mr. and Mrs. Poulos provide all of us with a wonderful place to go to experience Christmas present and past.  Their hard work and attention to detail is astonishing.

Old Time Ensemble from the School of Music at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, a creative group of fiddle-playing, banjo-picking, accordion-squee​zing, washboard-strum​ming musicians, present two Christmas concerts with holiday sing-a-longs at Roanoke Island Festival Park Indoor Theatre November 26 at 7 p.m. November 27 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 adults and $5 for those 12 and under. Carolina Designs Realty donated funds to support a triathlon for kids, ages 5 to 12, held at Kilmarlic Health and Racquet Club recently. 

All participants received a free t-shirt, enjoyed a lunch and a pumpkin afterward.
