    A recent article in the ‘Travel Destinations in the United States’ on eHow.com, makes mention of the Outer Banks for the many attractions here, first and foremost being the natural beauty of the island. 

    Known for an area that hosts as many as 7 million visitors each year, there are a plethora of historical attractions which include five lighthouses, the site of the first flight by the Wright brothers, the largest sand dunes on the East Coast and one of North Carolina’s aquariums. 

    Other sought after attractions include the Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum,  “The Lost Colony,” the nation’s longest-running outdoor drama, Hang gliding, water sports, art galleries and bird watching.  There is something for everyone here on the Outer Banks.
