Today, celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day, and become inspired to work toward a healthier planet. Outdoor spaces, especially on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, provide a sense of peace and add immeasurably to our quality of life. They give us a chance to experience nature, to be around wildlife, spark our imaginations and rejuvenate our spirits. These places and experiences embolden our sense of duty to protect the environment from the threat of pollution.
On Saturday, April 16th, the 2011 Ride to a Wish, a challenging 33/50/100 mile course through scenic Tyrrell County in Columbia, NC, was very successful due to Rose McHale’s hard work and dedication in planning and organizing a very successful event raising $30K to help FIVE kids! She attributes a great deal of her success to Carolina Designs Realty for offering #023 Seahawk an oceanside five bedroom vacation rental home in Duck as part of a fantastic raffle package, $1000 cash donation, and indirectly generating $7500 from riders, additional donations, and even some of the entertainment. All proceeds from the ride are contributed to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Eastern North Carolina.
