Monica Thibodeau, Michelle Layne, Kristen Giuliano and Jamie Wilker attended the Vacation Rental Managers Association (VRMA) Annual Conference in San Diego, California on October 21st – 25th.
Since 1985, membership to VRMA, a professional trade association for the vacation property management industry, indicates that the vacation rental company aspires to a Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice and continues to learn the latest trends and developments in the industry. Consumers regard the VRMA logo as an indication of the professional management of vacation rental properties.

The 2006 Inaugural Outer Banks Marathon & ‘One-Hill-Only’ Half Marathon happened rain and shine this weekend, Saturday, November 11th and Sunday, November 12th.
The race consisted of both runners and walkers. The Outer Banks Visitors Bureau sponsors the event. Our very own Elaine Breiholz, a member of our technical staff, ran the marathon that began in Kitty Hawk and continued along the Albemarle Sound, swept the outskirts of the Wright Brothers Memorial in Kill Devil Hills, went through the Nags Head Woods Maritime Forest to the huge sand dunes in Jockey’s Ridge State Park, crossed the Washington-Baum Bridge to Roanoke Island, to the finish line in Festival Park in Manteo. We are so proud of Elaine, she ran the race in less than 3 hours. Way to go, Elaine!
If you watch the Today’s Show with Al Roker, you may have seen last year that Mr. and Mrs. Poulos of Ocean Acres Drive in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina, won the National Christmas Decorating context. Mr. and Mrs. Poulos are expecting another visit, but this time it is the crew from HG TV, on Friday, November 10th broadcasting live from 3:30 p.m. well into the evening. The crew will focus on how the Poulos’s decorating year after year has brought such yuletide excitement to so many. They will be interviewing people on the Outer Banks that stop by that evening willing to express their appreciation and memories of this wonderful Christmas experience. We are very fortunate that Mr. and Mrs. Poulos provide all of us with a wonderful place to go to experience Christmas present and past. Their hard work and attention to detail is so very appreciated. If you have questions, call Jim and Ann Poulos at 441-1618.
